Authorization to Verify Offsets

I, the undersigned, hereby authorize Fasttrack Accounting, its authorized representatives, and staff to contact the U.S. Department of the Treasury Offset Program (TOP), the IRS offset hotline, or any related government offset verification system for the sole purpose of determining whether my federal or state tax refund is subject to offset.

This authorization includes verification of potential offsets related to, but not limited to:

  • Past-due federal or state taxes

  • Child support arrears

  • Student loans

  • Unemployment overpayments

  • State or federal agency debts

  • Other government obligations eligible for offset

I understand that this verification is performed prior to the preparation and/or filing of my tax return to avoid delays, reductions, or denials of my expected refund.

Client Acknowledgments

By signing below, I acknowledge and agree that:

  • Fasttrack Accounting does not control whether an offset exists or the amount of any offset.

  • Offset information is provided by government agencies and may change after verification.

  • Verification of offsets does not guarantee that my refund will not later be offset.

  • Fasttrack Accounting is not responsible for offsets applied by the IRS, Treasury, or state agencies.

  • This authorization does not grant Fasttrack Accounting power of attorney and is limited solely to offset verification.

  • I remain responsible for resolving any outstanding debts identified.

Release of Liability

I hereby release and hold harmless Fasttrack Accounting from any liability arising from:

  • Information received from the Treasury Offset Program or IRS offset systems

  • Changes to offset status after verification

  • Refund delays or reductions caused by offsets

Authorization Term

This authorization is valid for the current tax year and expires upon the earlier of:

  • Completion of my tax filing for the year listed below, or

  • Written revocation by me
